Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) drafted a set of Science Mission Requirements for a Global Class Vessel with Seismic Capabilities . These SMRs were provided to the community for review and comment. Thhe SMR serves two purposes as they explain in the preface; first as an SMR applicable to the community needs for this type of Global Class Seismic vessel, secondly as a statement of requirements for the Marcus Langseth conversion effort.
